5/4/02 - ACRO Update - Here's the latest news from Flipside on Acrophobia: "We are pleased to report that Acrophobia will be returning to our sites. Unfortunately we have no further information other than that we do plan on bringing back Acrophobia."

If you're interested in receiving information about the return of Acrophobia, please go to flipside's website and enter your email address so they can keep you posted. Also, they provide a form for your comments and suggestions about Acrophobia.

8/30/01 - WAIT! Maybe the eulogy was premature!! I found the following tidbit of information on Flipside, buried in an FAQ: Will all my favorite games remain, are any games going away? The vast majority of Flipside games will still be available, along with a slew of new games. However, Get The Picture, Apples to Apples, IM Games, and e-mail games are being discontinued. In addition You Don't Know Jack, Acrophobia, and Wordox Java will be down temporarily.

A big welcome for the newest addition to the codymaxx family: jomat and Winfield are the proud new parents of little jomat's new brother, Samuel. Little Sam was born to jomat on Thursday, August 26th, at 10:53 a.m. with Winfield, codymaxx, and Jomaus close at hand. He's a real cutie - and a big guy at that!

8/20/99 - Sad News - Our friend and fellow Acroer, Mmike, passed away on August 11. He was a wonderful person and is sorely missed by us all. Leisa is organizing an online memorial tribute via ICQ. It will begin at 8 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, August 25, and will continue until everyone has an opportunity to speak. The comments will be recorded and sent to his family.

The kick feature was added to remove abusive or disruptive players from a room by majority /complain or to remove players from zone rooms who are not in clan matches. BSI has received a few complaints of unfair kicking, i.e., people using /complain because someone wasn't playing by the "couch rules" or not following a ban on a specific subject matter (Clinton, in this case). The fine folks at Bezerk do NOT consider these to be valid uses of the feature. Please take a moment to read this month's A-Files to get a full description of the enhanced /complain. Don't forget...HAVE FUN...and Acro All Night!

4/6/98 - Grey_Mouser's Memorial to Ralph:    Ralph Isaac, age 34, one of the regulars of the Lizard Lounge passed away on March 29, 1998. He will be missed by all his fellow Acroers. Grey_Mouser has set up a chat room on ICQ, for all the regulars of the Lizard Lounge. On Saturday April 4, 1998, they had a wake for Ralph, and then because they had so much fun, they decided to convene again on Sunday the 5th, and then to convene on every Sunday at 7:00pm CDT. The ICQ # is: 10489303, the location is &Ralph_Memorial. All are welcomed to honor Ralph and share comraderie in his honor.

4/6/98 - Taxes - April 15th is income tax day for U.S. citizens. Taxes are fairly universal, however, so codymaxx is counting on people from everywhere to speak their minds on the subject (Acro style, of course!) to cheer her while she struggles to prepare hers...

Don't be shy, send Diablodog your pet pictures (don't forget to attach the photo file to your letter!), and she will post them. Include their names, maybe a little description, or something funny they do. If you don't have a scanner or access to one, let her know. E-mail Diablodog and she will give you her snail mail address. She'll scan the pictures and then return them to you. Just think your pet will forever live in cyber space, just like Diablodog!!!!

2/12/98 - BOFUS has sent the letter with your comments to Kitten's husband and thanks you for your words of kindness. It really meant a lot to her acro friends, as did she. BOFUS has asked that I leave word of her passing on AAN to remind us of how fragile our lives are and how we need to tell those around us what they mean to us before it's too late.

2/9/98 - Sad News - I received word today morning that Venus and Hot Tub Acro regular Kitten passed away Saturday from heart failure. Kitten left a letter for her family because she knew this was very likely to happen. According to her wishes, there will be no funeral, just a private memorial, and her ashes will be sprinkled on the ocean off the Coast of North Carolina. She also said in her letter that flowers are for the living and that in the event of her death instead of sending flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association so that others might have a chance to live.

Acro player BOFUS asks that you jot down a few words and send them to be incorporated into a single letter. BOFUS hopes to make the trip to Kitten's receiving and lay these words of sorrow and kindness with her. If unable to do so, BOFUS will forward this letter to her husband in the hopes that he will know how much she was a friend to us and how much we will miss her. Her husband is holding up well under the circumstances. He thanks everyone and asks that you just say a prayer for him.

12/8/97 - BSI Announces Two New Mirror Rooms... We Have a New Home  - Great News from Berkeley! As many of you know already, Berkeley Systems added 20 new "clean rooms" to Acrophobia today. Two have been named in honor of our Mirrors games: Mirror and Looking Glass.  So we're moving out of Town Hall and Trader Nick's and into our new rooms ASAP! Let's have a kick-off game 12/10/97, Wednesday 10 p.m. EST... Hope to see you there then.

One important note - We don't have Acrobot support for mirrors yet... we'll still need to explain to people how to play with dots and underscores. The Acrobot will not give mirrored Acros to work with -- but maybe in a later version! Help spread the word and "old timers" please help the newcomers.
